Thanks Steve N for recommending Strava, I can confirm I am king of several mountains (I say mountains...little lumps compared to what I've got later in the Summer).
This wonderful (if you are competitive) little app will extract segments of your routes with the time and put you into a leaderboard, no need to time anything specially just leave the garmin running.
A word of caution though when using any app that shares your location, always check your privacy settings so that only the people you want to see your routes can.
