Well, commendations to Alan, James, Jose and Tom for not climbing off going up The Bitch and a mention in dispatches (and possible first Nana Award nominee of the season) for Charlie for going to all the trouble of getting up early, signing on and getting lost on the way to the start line. he Events UK van was seen out putting up Sportive arrows and Tom decided to follow one up West Marden. Luckily his Dad was on hand to call him back and his 1h 14m time would have been nearer 1h 10m had he not done so. So lesson learnt there: Sportive organisers don't seem to be from true racing stock and don't really pay any attention to races being organised by others. I have yet to see a TT or RR waymarked by little orange arrows stuck to trees, fences, elderly farmers etc so I strongly advise against following them, unless you are actually riding a sportive, of course. Shocked
