Affiliation to the Surrey League has increased dramatically to £500 per year and as such is now well beyond the reach of the Club's finances. At a recent meeting the Committee agreed that the affiliation should not be renewed for the forthcoming season. Under the existing Surrey League rules only 2 riders from any Club can join before the requirement to pay the £500 affiliation fee comes into force. The Club has had about a dozen Senior and Junior riders who have entered the Surrey League at some point during the 2014 season, so there will undoubtedly be disappointment for those chasing licence points. It is my proposal (as Road and Track Secretary) that Andy Carter (who has ridden regularly in the League over the past few years) has first refusal to join as a PNECC member and that the second named rider should be decided among those who wish to ride on a regular basis. Over to the roadies to discuss please - happy to be the arbiter should there be a conflict of opinion.
Please note, that any rider can join the Surrey League as a Private Member, but please be aware that if you choose to go down this route you will be registered with British Cycling as such for the whole season and therefore be unable to race in PNECC colours.
On a more positive note, the PNECC Summer Road Race (2nd/3rd Cats) will take place on Saturday 6 June 2015 on the Owslebury circuit - I will post on the Forum nearer the date for volunteers to assist.
