Steve Abraham is attempting the Highest Annual Mileage Record, (see http://oneyeartimetrial.org.uk/ for more info), and will (hopefully) be visiting Portsmouth again next Tuesday night, dependent on prevailing wind direction. (Plans can literally change with the breeze!) He will be staying with Mark Hummerstone of Audax Club Portsmouth/Portsmouth CTC, as he did last week.

For more info see http://oneyeartimetrial.org.uk/

I've emailed and spoken to Mark, and he said he thinks its a good idea if PNECC could meet up with Steve to offer support when he revisits Mark next Tuesday 31/3/15:-

"What occurs to me is whether PNE CC want to ride in with Steve as he comes in from around 20 miles out? This was done last week by my mate Paul Whitehead from around Fishers Pond and I would imagine this gives Steve a real shot in the arm. He may be coming in from a different direction next week depending on where he is coming from and the forecast wind direction. Looking at the forecast, it will be a SW/W and blowing a bit so the same Romsey/Otterbourne/Fishers Pond/Wickham/Portsdown Hill may be followed"

Steve's location can be followed on a live GPS tracker so we can anticipate where he is going to be and plan an interception point. http://trackleaders.com/oneyeartimetrial15i.php?name=Steve_Abraham

His ETA in Pompey is 9pm, although this is highly dependent on progress, and last week stretched to 10pm

Apparently, Portsmouth News are interested in running a story, and might be there at Marks house for Photos.

So you know, Steve rides at his own pace dictated by a 110bpm heart rate, hence he may be riding at 12 to 14 mph, and our riding with him will be at his discretion at the time, but he may be thankful of a group to draft behind at the end of a 200+ mile day.

Is anyone interested in a club rendezvous with Steve? Let me know on social@pnecc.co.uk, and we'll refine the details.

In a cruel twist of fate, it has become evident from Steve Abrahams Twitter Feed that he has been struck by a moped whilst riding today, and has suffered broken bones in his ankle, which is now in plaster.
Consequently it is extremely doubtful he will be visiting Pompey next week, or even continuing with the Record Attempt.  Sad

I also saw that, tragic news from what was a stunning achievement thus far. I bet he'll have the weeks off and still trump godwin if he gets back on it, he was pumping the miles in at an astonishing rate
