PNECC 2012 Hill Climb Championship

To remind everyone:

I am promoting the annual PNECC Hill Climb on Sunday 7th October. The course is from Southwick straight up the B2177 to the top of the hill, distance 2.1K. Signing on is in the car park at the top by Portsdown roundabout and the first rider starts at 10.00am.

There is a trophy for this which will be awarded at the annual Prize Presentation (details to follow).

I hope to see as many PNECC riders as possible please - in PNE kit if you have it!

Can't we do a race going down the hill? Might stand a chance with that one.

Rob Panter and I did the fareham wheelers hill climb on sunday. Same course as the PNE one.

However, after finishing the hill climb, we did a "roll down" competition, down Southwick hill and then left at the roundabout and the winner was the rider who got the furthest up Crooked Walk Lane. You're not allowed to pedal so its a test of of aerodynamics and weight.

Also, you had to have first climbed up the hill before doing the decent

I'll do the climb first then have my trusty little helper waiting at the top with Coffee cake and a nice gay latte. That should see me coast all the way to Ringwood.

Think i'll just down a tin of condensed milk and eat a tub of lard, should do the trick!!

I found a curry on a Tuesday night often gave some daylight behind me on a Wednesday race...could have been extra propulsion or something else - either way the curry takes credit. Roll down could be fun...
