For your diaries

The plan is to substitute the usual Sunday Social and Sporty rides from The George with a jaunt over to the Isle of Wight. It is probably best to stick with the two groups as last year's team split up after the first corner (200M) and neither saw each other again. There is plenty of time to sort out planning, but the event starts at 0900 and the route is anti-clockwise this year.

I will be seeking a volunteer to marshal the Social group nearer the date.

Is there any restriction on a rider from another club coming along with us. My friend from London, Dulwich Paragon member, would like to come along

Tom, as it's a one-off event I have no issue if your friend wishes to ride. Which ever group you decide to join your friend will need to provide emergency contact details to the relevant ride leader.

I'm in, also my old dear lives en-route if people wanted an additional stop for brews/loo.

Under 4 weeks until this event starts. There is a choice of either 100km or 55km and both rides are clockwise around the island (to prevent a log jam at the chain ferry). Plan is to meet at Gunwharf to catch the 0900 ferry to Fishbourne. The following link gives a special events fare (£10 return) when registering online.

To gauge numbers can riders (including any friends) indicate on this forum which distance they will be doing. Thanks.
