Suspect Bit confusing as Singleton was mentioned by me earlier but the link below

http://www.wiggle.co.uk/wiggle-super-series-mega-meon-sportive-road-epic-route/

quotes the regular South Downs College at Waterlooville (now entered) don't take too long to enter, places go pretty quick on this brilliant event. Stop penny-pinching Jack and get your pennies out lol!

Bang up for it but not too sure I'd survive it. Is it wise for a newbie to try it?

Will there be anyone doing the standard route. I think I could actually finish that one, I didn't realise there were 3 options, thought it was only 95 miles, hence the concern.

Very Happy Don't feel pressured to do any distance you feel you cannot train between now and the event for. 95 IS a big ask for a newbie but it depends on what training plan you have, commitment and impotantly time. For my first sportive (Southern) I did the mid distance and to be honest found that easy - everybody is different. I'm sure there will be others (as there were last year) from PNE in all distances. The priority is to enjoy it (and I'm sure you will whatever distance you have trained for and enter on the day). bounce

Well, the day off work is booked. I'm tempted to try the epic, my only concern is that I get married at the end of June and I'm on honeymoon till the week before the race. Any help with a training plan would be really appreciated as I'd like to be in the Saturday group as well as doing well in the sportives and tt's by the end of the season.

Only if I can be on the front Very Happy

Aiming a bit high? I do have a bit of a tendancy to run before I can walk. I'm looking at the mid distance but can't book it for another week. Bit of time to decide and guage opinion. Can't always get to the rides or training but should be out on the bikes at work pretty soon too, hopefully that will help.

Well Dave from what Triggy is going on about it's just as well you're going on honeymoon beforehand...

Sounds to me as though the new wife will be grateful as well Laughing

Wey hey, I'll have company. I wouldn't worry about being a few months behind me, I'm still struggling with the hills a bit!

Hi All,

For those who are entering the Mega Meon, it would be fantastic if we could all ride in club kit. Last year we had some great exposure in the Wiggle video and we looked fab all lined up before the start Very Happy

If you'd like to wear with pride the kit on the day, please let me know what you'd like. Question

I'm all signed up for the Epic!

Anyone who is unsure of what to do in the way of preparation, I would recommend the sportive survival guide thread. It’s quite 'wordy' (not sure exactly who the dull bloke was that wrote that) but it does help you on the right path.

If anyone has any questions RE: Mega (or mege) Meon then drop me a line. Last year (as Lisa said) it was a storming ride and enjoyed by all. Grab your club kit now so we can all be resplendent in our red white and blue.

Rich.

Very Happy The route is posted today and I've made a link to MapMyRide

http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/39201028 where you can download the epic route. Very Happy

Registration starts early with setting off times for epic between 0800 and 0900, shorter distances go from 0830 - 0930 Very Happy

I'm plannig to go more or less at the beginning 0800. I know there aren't as many doing the epic this time, so there is possibly more opportunity to 'go for gold' at a 16.5 mph average pace? The epic route looks very good, with loads of time on our home patch. Lets big up the PNECC and kit. Rob can you list the current riders and distances? alien
