I am replacing my Chain and historically always used Shimano 105/Ultegra. Does anyone have any advice on SRAM as an alternative? I run a 10sp with Shimano 106 running Gear

Many thx

Mark

Shimano and Sram work to the same dimensions so you should have no problem. However I'd recommend a KMC chain. Make sure you get one specifically for use with Shimano 10 speed. They come with a removeable link which is a bonus.

Campagnolo, on the other hand, have been known to make wheels for Ferrari and components for NASA. Not exactly the same as fly fishing is it?

Portsmouth CC actually still exists albeit with only about five non-racing members. I think that Guy Watson (founder of i-team and who started off with us in 1981) is officially Chairman. Perhaps he has a plan to restart them? Anyway in later years the 'Pompey CC' were known more as a track club than a road or TT club and I certainly raced against them in the 1980s.
