1 British Cycling Coach on Wed 12 Jan 2011, 00:50

Very Happy Have just completed the first part of my Level 2 Certificate in Cycle Coaching - now the hard work begins!

Very Happy I am looking at venues and candidates for a x6 1 hour session programme, it will be carried out in a traffic free environment, involving a progressive approach to improving techniques and skills. I have already approached a local school and will wait for their reply. It will involve a group of between 3-8 riders and involve the commitment to attend all sessions to mark progress.

Very Happy If you think you may be interested, so I can gauge interest just reply to the post, no definates yet, I’d just like a feel for anyone interested. The course of sessions will be completed by end of March. All are genres welcome!

Very Happy Will keep you posted

Jack,

Remove that big ring and only turn low gears. I've been where you are and it's no fun.

Very Happy Jack don't beat yourself up, while your off the bike keep some mobility and when you do return pace pace pace (I know this isn't a familiar word to you) yourself. You won't start losing any fitness really until at least 2 weeks have passed, and at the level and age you're at you won't lose too much. Very Happy

Very Happy 4th Session completed at City Boys, new Coaching phrase learnt by the boys " don't throw your toys out of the pram" Very Happy The teamwork has turned a corner so group riding sessions will be good Very Happy

clown Have also discussed further x6 session programme on completion of this one, so looking good establishing a link here with the school. (Even looking at ways to get possible funding for session bikes - very early days yet).

Suspect Have spoken to Sue Page at Mountbatten Centre with regards potential using track when PSOCR plan not to use it on Friday April 29th (although Guy did say he would update psocr website). The centre will close early as it's a BH (8PM) and lighting up time would mean there would be no charge for lighting. Insurance cover would be provided by BC as I would have to incorporate BC sessions into the evening [there are group riding sessions that can be incorporated in pre-written Gears session plans]. The good news now stops - the cost of hire will still be £79.10 for that evening use. Will discus this further outside of the forum on Friday meet? alien

15 Re: British Cycling Coach on Sun 10 Apr 2011, 05:21

Suspect Checking the portscycling 'twitter' tweets, no track now for 15/22 April but they WILL be back for 29th BH Friday track night. So there IS opportunity to ride the track AND then get a phot, curry and brew. bounce
