Got back from France at the weekend, first tackled Mont Ventoux from the south. I cycled up from Hastings to watch Tom Simpson race at Herne Hill in 1963 when I was 16, so I had to stop at the memorial, 1km from the top. Two months after seeing him I had a picture taken with my new Hetchins. I left a copy of the picture, with a message on the back, I was wearing my PNE kit. Two days later the pictures in the above link were taken, in Wilier kit, when I rode up from the north side. I can recommend 16 mile descents.

Then went onto AlpeD'Huez, went halfway up one day as part of another ride, the next rode all the way. These pics are taken about 3km from the top. In both links Andrew Taylor, a new member is included, red and white Assos kit. Being a gentleman I gave him a 20 minute start and caught him at the village of Huez two thirds of the way up.
