As most people know, I'm a big fan of a certain make of bike equipment originating in Italy but usually find myself swearing at a faulty piece of kit made in China or Japan. However I found myself needing to do a heart transplant on a Sram lever after one owner had crashed and broken the body of his Rival lever. Thanks to the generosity of another rider who had donated an identical lever with a broken mechanism, I was able to make one good one.

Anyway the point of this post is to say what a wonderfully simple lever the Sram Rival is, at least the r/h one anyway. Very easy to work on and so, purely from a mechanic's pov, 10 out of 10. And that's from a Campag lover!

I was going to frame this and put it on the wall but I think I will await the day you finally bring yourself to touch something from the gods of all things made to ride not repair - just give me a shout when you are ready to try my DA.

Collect Campag - Ride Shimano.

PS Glad to hear Migs is repaired and ready to bravely go again...

Unfortunately for you Mike, I will never sell out to those nasty little Japs. I will stick to the country where wine is made from grapes, not rice and where they actually cook their fish before eating it Wink
