Mountbatten Circuits 24/03/13

Plenty of good racing today.

The youth riders all did well in there respective races a 4th for Owen, 6th for Conner and another 3rd for young Freya in the girls race doubling the clubs National rankings tally . Rob P and Karl both rode well in the U61/14 race.

As for us older riders; I came 4th in the 4th CAT with Tom G snapping his chain whilst leading the final lap. Tom Morris had a great 4th or 5th in the 3rd's and Charlie finished well in the pack after failing to establish his earlier breakaway.

I left before the end of the E/1/2 race but Andy C was going well at the time.

Andy C hung in there to get what he thinks might be 13th ish, depending on how many guys on +1 and +2 laps were ahead of him in the final charge for the line.

Well done to all! I will probably be joining you in the Easter circuits next Saturday

British cycling has a Rob Bolwell of VC St Raphael in 4th, but on SouthBC they have me as 4th and Rob Bowell in 13th.

As I came round the final corner I really thought I had it, but totally lost my legs 20 m from the finish. In hindsight with that headwind I should of sat in until the final straight but I was afraid of getting boxed in and instead tried to go on the corner.

The guy who won was in a small break with me earlier in the race. The last lap he did completely on the front at 50 k, which was a fair pace considering the wind!

I hope I get my points for 4th.

BC site does say provisional results so hopefully they'll get it correct in time

looking at the photo and kits, and the clubs on the results, it looks like they just got my number mixed with a guy who came 13th in the preliminary results.

The results on Bournmouth Blog and SouthBC have a guy from Twickenham CC in 5th, who must be the fellow furthest right with TCC on his shoulder.

The guy who's got third is from CMI, who i think is half out of shot, and the guy from Blazing Saddles got 2nd. I can't see anyone from St Raphael in shot.

Pretty close though! To be honest, I'm just chuffed I got some points.

... and no doubt with the aerodynamic advantages of said cover I would have been a bike length clear
