Southern Spring Sportive 24th March

Hi All

I'll be riding this on Sunday - my first ride in club colours (although I do feel slightly fraudulent wearing them having not even made it out on Club Run since joining last month!)

Any others from the club getting out for this one? If you see a random in club kit labouring along on a Black Specialized Sirrus Pro that'll be me - feel free to introduce yourself!

Just got news on Twitter that this event has been cancelled due to poor weather conditions - email will follow to all riders in next few hours apparently.

Just seen the email. I will have to go for the club ride !!

can't see the problem. Yes it's going to be cold but is that a reason for cancelling it ????

Hindhead is a bit of a microclimate. I believe but not 100% certain that there is snow around the route area. There were two cars in Petersfield today with a couple of inches of snow on them. Can only assume they have come in from the north of the area. Ice will always be a threat there as well.

Could always support our PTTL cause by riding the 2nd event. Points from top 3 riders per club count towards end of season team prize!

What and where is the 2nd event ??

I hear it's pretty bad up in that direction so no great surprise they cancelled to be fair. Guess it's safety first quite rightly, forecast is more snow too.
Club run for me in the morning too then!
