1 PNECC 2013 Time Trial events on Tue 13 Nov 2012, 10:09

Hello all, we are in the process of scheduling next season's events & I would like to gauge if there is a desire for us to hold a 2-up team time trial event?

The number of teams taking part in our 2012 2-up TTT was low & included teams from other clubs.

With the influx of new members there may be a greater number wishing to take part, as part of a team, so if you would like us to run an event for this purpose, please reply before the end of this month & let me know. Thank you.

Once I have confirmed dates for next season's events I will post them on the website, so you can prepare in earnest Wink

Would be good preparation for the Duo Normand....a longer course would be even better for this.

I'll be doing it either with Rich F or Coach.

Thanks for the replies so far; it looks like there is sufficient interest already for our TTT event to reappear in 2013

With a view to having events on longer courses, whether it is for a TTT or for individual events, the courses I'm aware of are P881/25 & P885/25 or P885/50 both A3/Liphook area & P901/25 or P901/50 which is the A27 Fontwell area

Whether or not PNECC can include a longer event in our schedule remains to be seen but I should have a clearer picture after a TT meeting that I am attending next Sunday.

As I said in my original post, I will post our schedule of dates once they are confirmed. I will include the planned courses as well Smile

Ray,

As one of the newbies to the cycling game, this may be a dumb question but I'll ask it anyway, how does a 2up time trial work ?

You just ride it as a pair, taking turns on the front as and when you feel like it, so I intend to get Jerry to drag me round the course!! Laughing

Ray, I will be interested in all TT events next year. Had many no-shows this year due to my shift pattern, my late shift fell on PNE weeks Mad

Pictures of 'Black Beauty' are yet to be seen on forum James. I'm assuming she's finished??

Not to start a fight between James and Jerry, but this one looks far cooler than Jerry's machine Wink.

....i can see why, looks superb and expensive. As for the Jerry/James battle (apart from when they are doing the 2-up together) its not what your bike looks like but how fast you can go on it Very Happy

Actually Mark rule #4 applies here: "It's all about the bike".

Touche' Jerry, couldnt agree more. Im afraid I broke rule 54 last year so feel I have made up for it this year by strictly adhering to rule 25!!

Suspect All we need now is to find a 10, 25 or 50 mile TT route in a straight line so you can run your TT machines? Shame the South Downs are in our back yard? We need a fast, testosterone fuelling 'quiet' flat and fast TT route - then we can measure our efforts? ideas? alien
