Hi guys,

I'm trying to take a Shimano Hollowtech bb out of my frame, however it's on extremely tight. I'm using the right tool and trying to undo it the right way (driveside thread is reverse). I've applied a fair amount of force but it won't budge. Anyone got any advise or experience with this?

Thanks.

air rattle gun can shock them off, also you can apply a little heat around the bottom bracket to expand the frame slightly, dont singe the paint work though.
all else fails and you can cut into the external cups and collapse the threads inwards and take the cups out in about 3 pieces.
a air wrench rattle gun normally does the trick though.

Make sure the tool is sat on your BB properly and give it a few good whacks with a hammer, did the trick for me. Not pretty but got the job done!!

If this is on your Specialized, take it to a bike shop, let them do it.
