Very Happy Anyone interested in the Randonee on the IOW this year? Perhaps a club group could ride the route? alien

I did a run round the IOW with the club the summer before last, what a great day that was, so yes, I'd love to join in on another, either an organised event like this one or just one of our own, either .... bounce

Better get back on my bike and do some work then! cyclops

Sounds fun count me in. It's just before my first trip to the Alps so if I get scared I can just pretend I got lost and keep riding around the island instead.

I'll be up for this, I think the more members & non members join in this the better will be a good day. Laughing Great preparation for other sportive' bounce s.

Just a quick note to re-ignite this thread - and also to mention there will be a social the following evening (Monday 7th - Bank Holiday) at our club house - Victory Indoor Bowls Club.

Please see thread under 'Socials'. There will be an opportunity to have your picture taken for a swipe card (Usually £10 but we are subsidising them to £5 for one night only if you join us for a meal). The meal will likely be a chilli or lasagne (either/or not both - unless you pay for two) or salad and will probably cost £5. Please confirm under the 'Socials' thread if you would like to attend.

I believe the plan is to get the 0900 crossing from Portsmouth (Gunwharf). Foot passengers need to be there by 8.45 with ticket at the latest (earlier if you need to buy a ticket there may well be queues!!) Tickets are £6.45 each way at present on the website where you can pre-book them.

For anyone joining up on the Island we will be starting from the Randonee Checkpoint at Wootton (I guess - seems sensible to me).

There are no set start times, like a sportive you can set off at any time within reason. We are catching the 0900 ferry from gunwharf so you must be ready to board (having purchased ticket!) at 0845.
